My first pop-up card! Oh my goodness, this was so much fun! Thank you to Karen Burniston for such a fantastic die set! Clearly, I used the castle die set and used Cinderella’s Castle at WDW as the inspiration for the colors and the addition of Tinker Bell. The castle was stenciled with some distressed oxide and the “towers” were embossed with a silver/black embossing powder. The castle needed some bling. LOL The patterened paper is from the Elsa and Anna Collection from Cricuit papers. The castle die cut on the front of the card is from a Hero Art’s set. Ms. Bell is obviously a Lawn Fawn fairy. My next attempt will have fireworks and if possible some lights.

Happy Birthday to Me and everyone else with a June 7th Birthday!

I got to play this morning and created this Father’s Day Card. Shhhhh, don’t tell my husband. This card was inspired by the LawnFawnatics create a scene challenge and 2 Crafty Critter Crazies. Truthfully, this was spectacularly easy to make. All the dies and images are from Lawn Fawn Joy to the Woods. I first cut the trees out of 3M post it tape using the die set. Then, I stamped the animals using Versamark ink. 3M post it tape was cut using the coordinating dies and placed as masks for the animals. Ink blending was then done using Distressed Oxide in Citron, Carved Pumpkin and Candied Apple. After all the masks were removed I used Black Widow pencil for the trees and the nest. A black frame and citron colored cardstock to finish the card.

It’s been FOREVER since I’ve posted; but, I’m back into it. YEAH!

This card was inspired by two challenges, the Color Throwdown Challenge #594 and the Less is More #420. I just loved the grey, yellow and white color palate this week and combining that with a dotted challenge was entirely too much fun. This is a one layer card with an inlaid flower. The flower is a die cut from Simon Says Stamp and I used a grey with white polka dot paper to cut out the flower. The same die was then used on the white paper for the base. For my yellow, I used a yellow-gold and foiled the oval and the greeting. A fast and easy card to make to get back into the swing.

There isn’t anything much cuter than a little furry friend playing at night. In a reply to the As You Like It challenge, animals are definitely more fun to work with than people. I adore cute, furry friends of any kind. Animals are fun and can be colored realistic or in a fantasy based scheme, which to me, makes them more enjoyable.

This card was originally inspired by the current Lawn Fawnatics challenge. Lawn Fawn’s Upon a Star set was used for this card. I started with bristol smooth card stock and clear embossing for the circles. Then some simple inking with distressed oxide inks in wilted violet,fossilized amber, stormy sky and black soot provided the color. All of the constellations were then embossed in white. Next, I reached for my Perfect Pearls; I used the white and the forever blue. I added the powder to some water and used a tiny fan brush to pick up the liquid and “splatter” it on the card. I then pulled out Lawn Fawn’s grass border die and used it to cut the sky and the grass. Last, but not least, was the bunny. He was stamped on grey card stock and colored with Prismacolor pencils.

Wouldn’t it be great to be on a cruise in the Bahamas right now? Dreaming….. Any how. This card was inspired by the CasThisSketch challenge this week. I created a stencil in the shape of the two rectangles and square using my Scan and Cut. The background is simple inking with the stencil using Distressed oxide tumbled glass, Gina K ink Sea Glass and tranquil turquoise. The stamp is from Stampersanonymous by Tim Holtz that is embossed with Black Cherry embossing powder by Emerald Creek Designs.

TGIF! Remember, “There are no mistakes, just happy little accidents.” What a better way to start a Friday than with some Bob Ross calmness. This card was inspired by the AAA CAS card challenge, use a stencil and made in minutes. Kindred stamps proivided the stencil and sentiment. The tree stencil was put to use with Pine Needle Distressed Oxide ink and the sentiment was embossed with Versamark ink and Nuvo Copper Blush powder. A little green cardstock to add a frame, and it’s done.

A springtime window to start the week. This is truly a simple card to make. Two spellbinders dies were used: Four Seasons Silhouettes, Shapeabilities Die D Lites Window Two S2-016. White Nina Solar white cardstock #110 was used for both dies. A Lawn Fawn stiched retangular die was used to cut out two 5.5×4.25 rectangles. Then the Window die was centered on the papers and cut simultaneously. One of the cut papers was then placed in an embossing folder. The window was simply taped to the embossed paper and the second paper was used to help layer the window. The summer silhouette was cut out of the same paper and SIMPLE copic coloring supplied the coloring. I little bit of distressed ink was blended on the card base. Then the layers were simply stacked.

There is lots of purple to be seen over at this fortnight’s Time Out Challenge. I was immensely excited when I saw this challenge as purple is my favorite color. 💜 However, I was trying to resist another unicorn card, just trying to be a bit more original. So off to my stash I went. This flamingo from Rabbit Hole Designs just had to be used. The flamingo and sentiment were both stamped with Memento black ink; the coloring is Copics, of course, with a little help from SketchBox alcohol marker in grape. The background was done using an embossing folder. I used wilted violet Distressed Ink and rubbed it over the embossing folder and then used the folder as a stamp to create the background.

This card is yet another cute animal and will be entered into the 2 Crafty Critter Crazies monthly challenge as well.

There’s a new color challenge over at Color Throwndown Challenge. Pink and purple lead me straight to unicorns! There is no better unicorn than Bernie! Rosie and Bernie are stamped in Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers on X-press it blending paper. The image was then cut out and placed on the background with some foam tape. Oh, the backgroud, how fun you were to make. 🦄 A rectangle was cut out with Lawn Fawn dies and the bottom masked with some masking tape. Basic ink blending with Distressed oxide in wilted violet, worn lipstick and picked raspberry. After blending, the background was put in a mini misty and The Ton’s stamp Parisian Cafe was inked with the same distressed oxide ink and stamped on top of the blending. The sentiment is from a Kindred Stamp’s set.

A small fairy to brighten your day! The inspiration for this card if from the current Card Concept challenge. The title of this challenge is woodland nursery. I found this fairy with a little baby bunny and figured, sounds like a nursery to me? The basic colors come from the challenge as well. I was going for a clean and simple card; I think this fits. A BIG shout out to Lisa Mitrokhin on YouTube for your inspiration for colors for the fairy’s wings. The card is just a single stamp from a retired Designing Desert Divas set; it is stamped in Memento brown ink on brown paper for a more no-line coloring appearance. The remainder of the card is Prismacolor pencils. I will eventually stamp a black sentiment on the front once I know who and for what occasion for which the card will be used. Not too bad for a first attempt at coloring on a dark background?
