The Cats Pajamas

It’s a cats sort of day, crafters. I came across the Paper Shelter for the first time last week OMgoodness what fabulous stamps! This stamp is: ”All About Kittens” It was transferred onto Express-it paper and colored with Copics Prismacolor pencils added fine details. I had to add some sparkles; Art Glitter in a hot pink with the white help from a glue pen Straight-foward paper piecing provided the background. Another sweet 16 birthday card complete

A Green and Gold Gato

A warm steampunk welcome, crafters! This was inspired by DD15’s Renasaissance Festival costume; her renfair persona is a plague doctor in the alternative colors: brown and green. Green and Gold Gato is full of layers in paper and techniques. The background is a Distressed Oxide paint technique. You can find the technique on Tim Holtz’s youTube video: Demo: Distress Paints; it will be at 1hour 35 minutes. The paints chosen were Folk Art color Shirft Emerald Flash for the base color with Antique Bronze Distressed Oxide paint as the top coat. Once dry, it was covered with Rustic Wilderness Distress Ink and sprinkled with water. The paper was then embossed with 3D texture typewrite (Tim Holtz, Sizzix) and guilded with gold guilding wax to accent the letters. The white paper border was inked with Black Soot, Distressed oxide. The green border paper is from Tim Holtz. My steampunk gato is from Sheepskidesigns on Etsy. I uploaded the image to Cricut, removed all the white “background”, added an offset to the image, drew and cut the image. Next….. the coloring…… Mi gato was colored with Arteza brush markers, Emerald Flash Colorshift paint and Distressed Crayon in Spun Sugar. The 16 was cut with Sizzix Alphanumeric Classic Lower in brown cardstock and the “gold leafed” with the same gold guilding wax used previously. A few ideology gears and you are done. This is a card for DD15’s birthday. Hope you enjoy!!

Gift Tag 2021

TGIF, crafters and artisans! Snarky cat is have a fun time sledding today. Fun and fast tag to make. Cut your tags with your Cricut. Stamp Snarky Cat with Onyx Black ink. Color him with Distressed Oxide crayons in Antique Linen and Peppermint Stick. Add Snowflake Grit Paste through a stencil. In retrospect, I should have used an opaque white paste. Stamp the word “to” in Versamark ink and emboss with Ranger White embossing powder. Some white ribbon and red/white craft cord. I made about 20 of these and it took about 3 hours total. I didn’t that that was too bad.

It’s Thisty Thursday

It’s Thistry Thursday, crafters! I am starting my day with a little Yuletide cheer. Ok, it’s morning; so, hot coca for me. 😜 This card was inspired by The Rainbow Challenge and the sentiment made me think of The Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers. Thank you ladies for the inspiration! This card is entirely Cricut. The martini glass is a Cricut Access file paired with a print and cut rainbow background. The black background is then pieced around the glass. The sentiment is drawn on vellum cardstock. A coordinating border from the stash, and you are done.

Santa’s Toys

Happy Holiday Movie Time! I have Lawnfawn inspired Christmas Window based on my favorite Christmas movie, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer .🎄 It’s a mom bunny taking her baby on an outing to visit the beautifully decorated windows at Santa’s Workshop. This frosty window is filled with the toys from the Island of Misfit Toys. The mommy especially loves this window as she reminds her little one that Santa loves everyone. Santa’s little helper was aided by everything Lawn Fawn for this window. Lawn Fawn sets used included: Woodgrain, Upon a Star, Holiday Helpers, Mushroom House, Rectangular Stitched Dies, Puffy Clouds, Scalloped Treatbox Winterhouse Add-on and Stitched Hillside Dies.

Enjoy a Holiday Movie, y’all!

From Our Home to Yours

Happy Sunday Evening, crafters! I hope everyone enjoyed the long Holiday weekend! I am going back to the ’50s with this card. I love this Hero Arts set. The fire is colored using prismacolor pencils. The colors chosen for the fire are based off of a youtube video by Lisa Mitrochin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtK0o1t3RarFc. The remainder of the card is stamped in Versamark Onyx Black Ink and colored with Arteza Real Brush Pens. A little glimmer was added to all the ornaments with clear Wink of Stella. The sentiment is embossed in Emerald Creek’s Black Cheery powder. The background papers are papers taken from my stash: old Sizzix pattern for the wall, white for the base board and grey for the rug. Fairly simple, straight forward stamping and coloring.

I have a very whimsical, over-the-top envelope for this retro card. The envelope had to have a 1950s vibe as well. So….. White Christmas theme it is. The paper used is from Carta Bella: “A Very Merry Christmas” purchased from Amazon. The Haynes sisters are a digital file from the etsy Shop:AddisonWelch. Blue fuzzy feathers had to be used for the fans; to adhere the feathers I used Distressed Oxide Icicles Collage Medium. The Sisters “sentiment” is cut from a Cricut Access file and sprayed with Mica Spray in Frosted Juniper. My “background” is covered by acetate. Don’t want to lose any feathers. 😊 Thoughts??

I have a fun “White Christmas” trivia….. The Song “Sisters” was sung ONLY by Rosemary Clooney. Aparently, all of the singing for Vera-Ellen was dubbed and Rosemary sung both parts of this song. Who knew???

Sending Christmas Cheer

Happy Thanksgiving to all the American Crafters and Cardmakers! Here’s hoping that eveyone is enjoying some yummy food today! A fairly simple looking card today. The background is a combination of stamps from The Ton (Parisian Cafe) and Hero Arts (November 2019). The initial colors are Speckled Egg (Distress Oxide) and Unicorn White (Hero Arts) used to gently color over the entire image. Then I focused on the tree; it is a combination of white charcoal, Copic markers (YG61, YG63) and Prismacolor pencils (PC908, PC1020, PC120,PC1096). A little shading of the windows was added with warm greys (PC1051,PC1054)) and yellos (PC914,PC916). The star is colored with some gold watercolor. Of course, Cricut helped out with the sentiments: cut file and foiled file via Circut access. Lavinia stamps’ Snowflakes were added with Versamark Emossing ink and Ranger white emobssing powder. Some Stickles in Frosted Lace added a bit more shine to the tree’s ornaments.

Vintage Sunday

It is a vintage sort of morning. This little one was found on Graphic Fairies and she was just too cute not to download and color. She was printed in grey scale and I tried to stay true to the colors used in the 40s? on Christmas cards. I used Prismacolor pencils and white charcoal. A frame from Tim Holt’s Ideology collection was then washed lightly in silver acrylic paint. I added a second frame using Silver Paper and then matching layers of card stock. I didn’t add much more than layers as I wanted her to be the center of attention.
