Happy Summer Weekend, Crafters! More layered goodness to share today. My first layer involved Tim Holtz’s Botanical Collage Paper glued to Stathmore’s Bristol smooth cardstock. White gesso was applied over it. Once dry, a combination of inky sprays were used until I was happy with the colors, Distressed Spray Stain and Distressed Oxide Sprays in: Rustic Wilderness, Dried Marigold, Antique Linen and Bundled Sage. At this point I decided it needed more texture and used Ranger’s Crackle Texure Paste with Dylusions mini stencil Fronds of Foliage; I don’t know if the stencil is still available. Oxide crayons in Bundled Sage, Dried Marigold and Antique linen gave some color to the fronds and the sides of the panel. Then….. on to my moth. His colors are reminiscent of a rosy maple moth and colored with Distressed Inks Mustard Seed and Pick Raspberry. To give more dimension, vellum was placed under his wings and some yellow yarn shards were added to his body as he has a fuzzy body. My border paper is Bristol cardstock inked with Pumice Stone and Antique linen using torn paper to simulate clouds and earth. The sentiment and flowers are stamped in Versafine Clair Morning Mist.
