A Unicorn at Heart

Welcome Weekend Crafters! This little girl is entirely too cute, and when I saw the current Fusion Challenge, I knew exactly which stamp to use. I used the sketch for this challenge and rotated it ninety degrees. The girl in the photo is standing in front of foliage; so, that was the inspiration for my background. However, to fade the greenery to the back, the color was changed from green to the brick color using Distressed Oxide’s Tattered Rose. This rose-colored greenery provides the long stripe of the sketch. The shorter bar is a sentiment from Kindred Stamps’ “Anything Can Happen if You Let It,” stamped in Versamark Ink and Lawn Fawn Rose Gold embossing powder. My unicorn girl is from a stamp set by Shine Stickers Studio stamped in Versamark Onyx Black ink and colored in Prismacolor pencils. I little clear Wink of Stella was added to her “corn” and white Nuvo drops added to the heart on her sweater for a little glimmer.

May your weekend be “practically perfect in every way”!

Make a Splash

Welcome to a new week, crafters! What a better way to deal with the winter storm today, than with thinking about a sunny day at a Florida theme park. The stamp is from Kindred Stamp’s Let’s Ride. I drew the background based off of an old Splash Mountain poster I found online. The stamp and drawing were done on tan colored Stathmore paper. Some simple pencil coloring with a combination of Prismacolors and Black Widow Pencils. I popped up the stamp on a single layer of foam tape. Stay warm and enjoy your day!!

CAS Saturday…Continues

Welcome back crafters! With the winter freeze we are experiencing, I just could not help but think about a nice warm place with a nice cup of coffee. I have been trying to think of a CAS card with a scene and this is what came to me this morning. I used The Color Catalog by Sarah Renae Clark as a source for my color combination. The hedgehog was stamped with Memento black ink and I drew the coffee house with a fine liner pen and finished my scene with Copic coloring. The sentiment is from The Ton’s Caffeine Crush. Hope you enjoy!

Keep Calm and Stay Warm, Crafters!

CAS Unicorn

Hello weekend crafters! I have a CAS card to share this morning. This card was inspired by the MFT sketch challenge and the AYLI stamp challenge. I love using clear stamps! I find that clear stamps are easier to manipulate than the digital. Perhaps if I had a good paint progam, that would change my mind; but, for now, it’s clear stamps that win. This little girl from MFT Unicorns and Glitter was stamped with Ink on 3 and colored with Prismacolor pencils. DD15 stamped and colored the image. I used MFT Homespun Stich Lines Die-namics to add the “lines” to the background. The sentiment is stamped with Distressed Ink Blueprint Sketch and the flowers were hand-drawn to match the flowers on the girl’s veil. Thank you for stopping by!

Have a Magical day!

I’m Late

Happy “Hop” Day, crafters! I little white rabbit to start your morning, provided by Stamping Bella’s Oddball Collection. My Copic coloring on him was truly very simple. I placed shading with a C1 first, then glazed over the areas with either pink or red. The borders are blended Copics in R27 and R85. All the colors used were: C0,C1,R00,R20,R27,RV63,R85 and a Prismacolor silver for the waatch.

“The hurrier I go, the behinder I get.”

Oh Gnome!

Oh, Gnome……. Is it snowing? This poor little gnome is being snowed on just when he thought winter was over (he lives in Texas). This card was initially inspired by the current Fusion card challenge. However, by the time I finished, it fulfills the challenges for both the LawnFawnatics challenge and the Double Trouble Paper Crafting challenge. The background paper has the outlines of the door and cabinet insets similar to the Fusion Challenge background. Clearly, the gingham hearts and gnome fit right in, along with the banners. The center flag was fashioned after the “brick” that states, “you are so loved.” The card is embellished with snowflakes, Spectrum Noir glitter pen, glossy accents, and a little embossing with Emerald Creek’s Black Cherry embossing powder and Versamark Onxy Black ink.

Copic colors: E50,E51,E55,E57,E59,YG97

Distressed Oxide colors: Gathered Twigs, Forest Moss, Tea Dye

Lawn Fawn Set: Oh Gnome!

Have a night like gnome other!

Pastel Skies

Good evening, crafters! MFT has a sketch challenge that was too fun to pass up! I used their radiating rays stencil along with Tim Holt’s Antique Linen, Tattered Rose and Dusty Concord for the background. BB Adorable Elephants with some simple copic coloring and glossy accents finished the card.

Keep smiling!

Hearts Abound

Welcome, Weekend Crafters!!! I have for you today a little girl and her doll taking a stroll through the park. I’m not sure what I will use this card for, perhaps Mother’s Day? This card was inspired by the lovely people over at Double Trouble Paper Crafting along with Allsorts Challenge.. Momenta’s Intricate Heart Tree was used to create my background. Craftin’ Desert Diva’s “Happy Girls” stamp set provided my image. She was stamped with Momento brown ink and colored with Copic markers. I paper pieced the carriage using wicker card stock along with Prismacolor pencils to add some dimension. I added some small embellishments with a red gel pen (the polka dots), White Nuvo drops (look carefully, she is wearing a pear bracelet), Irrredescent heart sequins (the wheels of the carriage), and a red heart (center of the hairbow).

Have a fantastic evening, everyone!

Copics used: E50, E51, W0,W1,R85,G12,100,E55,E57,E59

Prismacolors used: Burnt Umber, Mustard, Sepia, Gold

A Friend Loves

Good Morning, crafters! It’s a pastel heart sort of morning. I cannot help but think of this cute Rosie and Bernie stamp by Stamping Bella anytime I think of hearts of Valentines Day. I stamped the image with Versafine Onxy Black Ink on some Strathmore colored pencil 80lb paper. The sentiment is from a retired MayMayMade It set and stamped with Versafine Ink as well. Rosie and Bernie were colored with BlackWidow pencils. A yellow gel pen added the polka dots to the dress. Nuvo drops in rhubarb crumble were used for the heart ears. A little bit of Spectrum Noir clear was used on Bernie’s horn and hooves along with some white metallic watercolor for his mane. The background is done with pencil shavings.

Virtually Hug a Friend today!

Unbirthday Wishes

Happy Weekend, crafters! I created this card for a Fabulous Friend this week. Although I craft for my family, I enjoy sending happy mail to my friends. The card was inspired by SSS’s Wednesday Challenge this week, Anything Goes featuring Stamping Bella. I adore the Oddball stamps from Stamping Bella and received a complete Alice in Wonderland set for my birthday last year. The Mad Hatter is just too cute. I made him a bit more festive using bright colors, like Disney’s 1950s animated version. The sentiment is from Kindred Stamps Tea Friends. I used Strathmore colored pencil paper and Versamark Onxy Black ink to stamp my image and sentiment. I then used white charcoal pencil and a combination of Prismacolor and Black Widow pencils to color the Mad Hatter. The inked shading is Lime Rickety from Catherine Pooler.

A very merry unbirthday to you!
