Christmas Cards and Envelopes

We’re off to the weekend, crafters! I have been working on this matching set as a thank you gift for a friend. I posted the card previously under Beautiful Branch. I made matching envelopes and tags for this card. My thought was to use the tags as a way to seal the back of the envelopes. I found these cute otters at USPS. The card and envelope do take double postage as the size is irregular. I used Cricut foil and Cricut access dsigns for the envelope and the tag. You are seeing correctly. The white gel pen was used on the envelopes. Here is the trick for the white over the gold in Cricut. Cricut defalts to writing before foiling. I DO NOT load the pen in for the first writing, therefore nothing happens and the machine moves on to the foil. Once foiling, cutting and embossing is complete, you will have to unload the mat. Do not finish the cut. Reload the mat and choose the same layer. This time load the white gel pen (yes, the Jelly Roll pens fit the Cricut pen holder.) and let the machine write your message. Once it asks for you to insert the foil, cancel your cut and you are done. It sounds like it won’t work, but I promise it does.

The box I made is faux wood (in black) contact paper and brown velvet jewelry paper. I cut chip board from my stash to make the box and glued the pieces together. I thought it made a nice gift box.

A Snowy Woodlands

Good Morning, Crafters! Thanks to DD15, I didn’t give up on this card. Three Distres Oxides in blue helped to create my blue woodlands: Stormy Sky, Prize Ribon, Chipped Saphire. I fist masked the circle to create my scene using SSS Stamptember Tim Holtz 2021. I then used an snowflake embosing folder to begin the background. After embossing, I went back with some ink blending. I added Distres Crackle Pate in Icicle next. My favorite circle die cut was used with some vellum to make the snowflakes: 3-D Impreslits Snowflake by Tim Holtz. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and was embossed using white Range embosing powder with Versamark Ink. A litle rock candy glitter and white gel pen for some accents and you’re complete.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

Have a Merry Friday Evening, crafters!!! Sometimes, the simple cards can be the most rewarding. My background is a patterned paper from my stash. Simple stamping using Tim Holtz Forest Floor and Bold Tidings Mini complete the card. That’s it! 3 stamps, 3 inks and you are done! Quick and easy. It is a great way to make a bunch of cards fast. I made six cards in about an hour. Let me know if you try it!

A Walk In the Woods

Happy Copic Coloring, Crafters! My whimsical card started with the thought of a “Walk In the Woods” by the Double D Challenge. My Digi stamp and background paper are from Whimsy Stamps. I wanted to color my Cool Pony with Copics similar in color to the background. Honestly, I struggle with Copic coloring and blending, I am NO Sandy Allnock. But, I try hard. The colors I chose were: W0, W1, N0, N2, N4, E50, E51, E70, RV63, RV66, RV69. I used the colors I have (as I don’t own all of the Copic colors….yet 😊) My focal point was cut with a Scan and Cut and placed in this beautiful scene. To add a little glimmer to my card, Rock Candy glitter by Ranger was added to the fur trim. I don’t know if this counts as clean and simple; but, for me, it is. Hope you enjoy! For those from Double Trouble, my background has many Trees and my pony is Tethered to the little girl.

Santa’s Journey

Good evening crafters! This evening was quite inky over here. Santa is making his Christmas Eve run, flying over a sweet deer family. This was a fun and whimisical card to make. Beautiful Branch

Thrilled to be back Tuesday! It is hard to believe that I have not posted in over a week. WOW! Busy sending off Halloween cards. 🙄 ooohhhh…… I am back and playing with more Tim Holtz products. 😊 It is a little hard to see, but the background is watercolor paper with Tumbled Glass DIS and Speckled Egg DOS. The foliage comes from Stampers Anonymous Forest Floor and is stamped in Rustic Wilderness DI and Versafine Onyx Black ink. The pine cones are brought to life with DO paint in Walnut Stain. My sentiment is from Miss Ink’s Little Angle stamp set. Splatter a little perfect gold Perfect pearls for fun. Finish it with a few layers of cardstock, and you are done. (2-foliage stamps; 4 cardstock layers, 6-inky elements)

A “Pleather” Wallet?

Good evening, lovlies! With the upcoming holidays, gift cards are a necessity. So, this year I’ve decided to try and find more unique ways to give gift cards.😁 I have been playing with this wallet layout over at Cricut and finally have a version with which I am happy. Fortunately, it is VERY simple to make. Cut the two wallet pieces out of 111 lb leather texture cardstock by Tim Holtz. Ink all sides of your paper with Distress Oxide Ink in Vintage Photo. Now, start gluing. Not to shabby for paper?!

Fall Encouragement

Good morning and Happy Tuesday! I saw the Fusion inspiration board and loved the picture. I don’t have a poppy stamp, so I used what I had…. Sunflowers. Lots of spraying with Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink Sprays for the background and tag. Before the ink dried, I added Ranger Crackle paste using a brick stencil. I wanted the texture past to absorb the background color. And, yep, it worked. I added just a little Crackling Campfire crayon over the brick. A little matting and the card is complete.

My recipe is on my Sunflowers and Butterflies post. Enjoy your week, crafters!
