Happy Sunday crafting, everyone! I have a quick and cute card to share with you this afternoon. The Rabbit Hole Designs provides my focal point. Hero Arts provides the background. My Cricut and a white gel pen provide the sentiment. This picture makes my cat look green; however, he is colored in C3&C1 copics. Enjoy!

Happy Sunday, everyone! I have Tim Holz’s car to share with you today. I have had this paper from Carta Bella Paper Co. for a few years and fell in love with this background scene. I haven’t had the heart to cut it as I didn’t feel I could do it any justice. Then came along this vintage car. I played until I had a good layout. The blue background is a 1950s-inspired background I downloaded and printed. Other than that, simple paper piecing of the die and paper pack. Sometimes keeping it simple works best.

Happy Saturday, everyone! Here’s my creation inspired by the parameters on Craft Roulette last night: white background, light, diagonal cut, and off to the side. The only non-obvious is the “light,” which you can find if you look carefully; light bulbs are stamped as part of the grungy background.

Cut the white cardstock down to a mini-slim line dimension. Using the inks and some plastic, smoosh ink onto the background. Allow drying time. Stamp the background with images from Adverts and Grunged. From the white cardstock, cut a flower from Stems and a sentiment block with the second smallest slimline die. Cut the hello from pink card stock. Glue your layers and mount on fun foam. Glue to a card base, and you’re done! WOW! Fast and easy!!! Enjoy!

Happy Friday, everyone! This card was inspired by a 1950s typewriter I found online earlier this week. I saw this picture and thought it would make such a cute card. My first stop was to Canva to create a color palette, just a little digital playing.

Directions:
Cut the ivory cardstock down to 4.25″x5.5″. Stamp the Exquisite flowers using Antique Linen. Choose a stamp from Stamp Collector and the stamp cancellation stamp from Holiday Postmarks and stamp in the upper right-hand corner with Aged Mahogany. Ink the edges with Tattered Rose. Cut your typewriter out of pink cardstock and ink with Tattered Rose. Cut your leaves out of the green cardstock and add dimension with Rustic Wilderness (hard to see in my photo). Cut your sentiment and heart from Tim Holt’s cardstock. Type a sentiment on the typewriter and shorten the paper to fit the typewriter; distress the edges with Antique Linen.

Happy New Year, Everyone! Why not start out the New Year with something a little spooky? This card is a merger of Tim Holtz and Lavina stamps. The moon was added to the grey cardstock using pan pastels in white and black. After that, the background was stamped using a grey Versafine Clair, Morning Mist. The witch and cauldron were stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with Emerald Creek’s Aroma Black Cherry embossing powder. Then some “bubbles” were added with Versamark ink and Perfect Pearls in Poppy. A simple black border was added before mounting to grey cardstock. Enjoy!

Hi Everyone…welcome to another month on the Colorful Options Blog. Thank you for joining us for last month’s challenge, and we hope you can join us this month, too, because it’s time for a new challenge.
And the theme for this month is……
BLACK
I tried something completely different this month, an 8×10 acrylic/mixed media graffiti art. I follow the French artist Segio Aranda Art on Youtube, and he has a tutorial on graffiti art. It looked like fun. So, why not? Marilyn, above is the result. The general technique is simple: apply a layer of acrylic paint, dry, and add more layers until you are happy.

Apply white Gesso to cover your paper or canvas; while still wet, add glitter randomly for texture and apply a second coat of Gesso. Allow it to dry. Cover the canvas with your background color; mine was Salvaged Patina. Once dry, tape two bands toward the center of the canvas. Add small dollops of paint (Picked Raspberry and Villanous Potion) and spread over the canvas with a credit card.
Tape off two more blocks and add paint as previously (Uncharted Mariner). Allow all paint to dry. Tape off the center and apply a layer of Stormy Sky and Picket fence using a brayer (no picture, so sorry). Tape off the bottom bands and apply a mixture of Crackling Campfire, Dried Marigold, and Antique Linen using the brayer. Remove the tape and sponge a combination of Antique Linen and Dried Marigold to blend the layers. At this point, you will still see distinct bands.
Tape off one half of the canvas and apply a mixture of Golden, Squeezed Lemonade, and Titanium white using the brayer. Remove the tape and add a mix of Stormy Sky, Titanium White, and Speckled Egg to the other half. Blend the two until happy. This will give you a more white-washed appearance. While wet, grab a metal spatula and scratch your canvas randomly and frequently.
Allow this to dry. Apply ink to the surface as the first layer of whitewash. I wasn’t happy with the result of the ink. So, I added more whitewash, using Picket Fence thinned with water and a sponge until I achieved the desired result. Allow dry time. Tape a stencil of your liking to the canvas and head outside. Apply the spray paint and remove the stencil. Apply Clear Rock Candy to the necklace using a collage medium. After all, Marilyn needs to sparkle.
