Naughty or Nice?

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying a relaxing weekend. I’m participating in Craft Roulette, episode 219. My base is a MFT Outside the Box die set made from red cardstock and a coordinating snowflake patterned paper from the stash. I added some stamping and coloring, helped by Whimsy’s Stamps’ Cat Do Christmas stamp set. The final touches were two gingerbread men (TH-Sizzix Christmas Minis) and a cookie (TH-Sizzix, Christmas Cookies)

Blue Blossom Salad: Notice the red tomatoes, green lettuce, blue flowers/cheese and tan/brown chicken.

Meowy Christmas

Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you’re enjoying a relaxing weekend. I’m participating in Craft Roulette, episode 218. My base is a Tim Holtz Sizzix tag made from white cardstock, featuring an ink-blended background created with a stencil. I added some stamping and coloring to complete the scene, helped by Hero Art’s Meowy Christmas. A little bit of Glossy Accents was added to the ornaments for a little shine.

A Little Chilly

Welcome back to another month of fun challenges at the Colorful Options Challenge🎨🌈 and Park Hopping My Happy Place🎨🎢✨!

The Colorful Options Challenge is partnering with Double Trouble through the 18th of June.

I know that the color aqua often brings to mind images of sunny beaches and shimmering waters, but this month, my thoughts were drifting toward the magical beauty of snow and Disney’s Blizzard Beach Waterpark. This tag is a two-fer delight! It’s my design team contribution for both the Colorful Options challenge and the Park Hopping My Happy Place challenge. Double the inspiration, double the fun!

Inspired by the enchanting tag that Tami Bastianns (aka, Plays Well With Paper) created a couple of years ago using the Eugene Sizzix Colorize die, I decided it was finally time to recreate it. Though I didn’t have all the same supplies as Tami, I improvised with what I had and had a blast doing it! Below, you’ll find a list of the materials I used.

If you’d like to see Tami’s original creation and follow along with her tutorial, just click the link to her YouTube video. Let’s dive into this frosty and fun crafting adventure together!

Thanks

Happy Mother’s Day, crafters! I have my version of a CAS card for you today. Here’s the recipe: Create a stamp pad using various dots of Distress Inkers and a Cut-And-Dry Foam Stamp pad.

Use your stamp pad to stamp the flowers on white card stock. Cut a border and sentiment out of a coordinating color. Assemble and you are ready to send it out.

The color palette I chose is based on what I call a round “glow candle.” Anyone remember these? Let me know in the comments below.

Have a great week!

Sending a Smile

Happy Thursday, crafters! A little mixed media tag sending a smile your way.

Here’s the recipe for my bold and enchanting creation. The combination of Villanous Potion and Wilted Violet as the background sets a mysterious tone, enhanced by the stamped text in black ink and white embossing. Smudging the edges with Black Soot and Picket Fence adds depth and contrast.

Coloring the stamps with Villanous Potion, Wilted Violet, and Worn Lipstick brings them to life against the dark backdrop. The addition of sparkly black Stickles along the border of the stamps adds a touch of magic and intrigue.

Embossing the charm with Villanous Potion Embossing Glaze gives it a striking finish, tying it in with the rest of the design. And the sentiment, adorned with a tiny heart, adds a sweet touch to balance the darkness.

Finally, the mixture of ribbons brings everything together, adding texture and dimension to the piece. A wonderfully crafted creation with a perfect blend of darkness and charm!

You Make the World Better

Greetings, fellow crafters! The weekend is here, and I’m thrilled to introduce you to my latest creation: a single-layer card set with a pop of rainbow vibrance. This matching card and envelope ensemble is crafted using only a single ink pad and a touch of watercolor magic. Let’s dive into the joy of simplicity and creativity together!

Materials Needed:

  • Strathmore Bristol smooth cardstock for the card; Black/Black cardstock for the base of the card, 20lb 11×17 white paper for the envelope, 20lb copy paper for envelope lining
  • Black Soot Archival Ink
  • Tim Holtz Watercolor Pencils
  • StampersAnonymous Stamps (CMS 465 The Inspector,CMS446 Noteworthy,CMS448 Eccentric,CMS395 The Professor,CMS391 Scenic Holiday, CMS 323 Holiday Postmarks)

In this project, I utilized the versatile Memory Misting stamping platform, boasting a generous 12×12 size ideal for creating expansive stamped backgrounds with ease. Securing my cardstock onto the platform with a simple piece of tape, I arranged my stamps and started on some stamping fun, employing a second-generation technique for a soft, layered effect across both the card background and envelope.

Once the ink dried, it was time to bring our beloved Inspector to life. With a rainbow spectrum of pencils, I colored the stamp with pencils directly on the platform, misted it lightly, and pressed down, infusing the design with vibrant hues. A heartfelt sentiment was then delicately stamped onto the card, followed by assembly to complete the charming creation.

As a final touch, the envelope received special attention with first and second-generation stamping for added intrigue. I created a simple rainbow lining to complement the joyful theme by printing a generic *.jpg using my trusty HP and meticulously cutting it to size. With each detail carefully crafted, this project radiates creativity and warmth.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. Please remember that

You make the world a better place just by being in it.
