The Bright Side

Hey everyone, welcome back to another exciting month at the Colorful Options Challenge! 🎨🌈 This time, we’re getting our inspiration from the vibrant mix of yellow and green. Pick any combo of these two colors that speaks to you. Not feeling it? No worries—join us with a rainbow-inspired palette instead. Whether you’re painting, crafting, or designing, the possibilities are endless!

This month, I decided to keep it clean and simple (CAS) and played around with the color of the month. I used Distress Oxides in Squeezed Lemonade, Mowed Lawn, and Twisted Citron, along with Tim Holtz’s Splatters Layering stencil for the background. My focal image is Mocch by Lavinia Stamps, and the sentiment is from Sizzix’s Good Vibes #2.

Have a great month!

ET, Phone Home

Hey everyone! Welcome back to another exciting challenge at Park Hopping My Happy Place!

We were thrilled with all the fantastic entries for our July challenge and can’t wait to see your creativity for this month. As always, our challenge is open to any theme park-inspired creation.

This month’s inspo pic is all about The Wizarding World of Harry Potter! With August giving off those back-to-school vibes, Harry Potter feels like the perfect theme. Let your imagination run wild and share your magical creations with us!

Park Hopping is taking a trip to Universal Studios in Orlando to visit Harry Potter! I made it to the theme park, but what really inspired me was the ET ride, especially ET’s friends from his home planet.

I grabbed some Strathmore Acrylic Paint paper and whatever acrylic paints we had lying around in the stash to create this piece. It’s 5″x9″, so I don’t think I’ll use it for a card. Maybe I’ll use it to decorate my craft room instead!

Happy making!

Passport to SCP

Happy Sunday evening, crafters!

What a wild and crazy week! Hurricane Beryl had his “eye” on us last Monday morning. We just got our power restored yesterday. 😩 I managed to watch Craft Roulette on my phone with the help of a battery charger. Anyway, back to my hobby…

I’ve been busy today pondering and working on Craft Roulette’s episode 223. I had been toying with the idea of a passport card and thought I’d give it a go.

  • Smaller/Larger – The pages of the passport card are smaller and larger
  • Planets – Stars appear white, Venus appears yellow, Space appears black
  • House – Dogs & cats are found in houses, so are IDs, passports and in my house…..plague doctors (very popular plushy).
  • White border – on all the images, all of the pages to the left, and around the CONFIDENTIAL warning on the cover page.

I didn’t use many supplies, just black and white paper with a little help from some Scatter Straw Distress Oxide. I focused on lots of digital image creation, printing, and fussy cutting.

Here are the other images of the card:

Although my crew of DDs were skeptical, they’re now the ones vying to use the card for a friend. They have my ❤️!

Have a great week!!
