Harry Potter Graduation?

Calling all Harry Potter fans! I was wanting to create a graduation card from DD who is a major HP fan. Challenge taken. I created this card using nothing but rectangular and square dies. The sentiment is from Lawnfawn and embossed in silver.

“When in doubt, go to the library.” — Ron Weasley

Purrfect

Tom cat here cheering on a purr-fect job! Tom came from Clair Joy and was stamped with Ink On 3 disappearing ink and tinted with Copic NO and Prismacolor pencils. A little gold accents with the butterfly, cord and sentiment (Craftin’ Desert Divas). A simple way to start a Wednesday. I thought this might make a cute graduation card. What do you think??

“Time spent with cats is never wasted.”

Stay Fabulous, Darlings!

Cat and Holly are hear to remind us to “Stay Fabulous, Darlings!” Double Trouble has challenged me to be “girly.” You can’t get more feminine than Miss Holly Golightly. I found this precious image on Etsy and just had to have her. She is colored in a combination of Copic markers and Promarkers with a few added embellishments: white and black sparkle gel pen, white and silver nuvo drops and just a few pearls. You can’t have Breakfast at Tiffany’s without pearls?! Right??? Miss Golightly’s background are patterned digital papers cut with a little help from Lawnfawn.

💎“Of course,personally,I think it’d be tacky to wear diamonds before I’m forty”💎

Puppy Hugs

Happy Sunday afternoon, card makers! Slinky dog has a hug to share with us today! He is stamped in Ink on 3 disappearing ink and brought to life with Prismacolor and Black Widow pencils. He is standing on a green pastel pencil grass. The little guy blended perfectly with Anna Griffin-Cricut paper.

Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen

A Thankful Puppy

A playful little card for the crafters and colorists this evening. This card was a self imposed challenge to see if I could color with only 7 pencils. I found this cute digital stamp over at Whimsy Stamps and thought it would work well. It is colored completely in Prismacolor pencils. A fun floral circle was used to cut it out. The patterned paper came from my stash. I added some unusual embellishments for me: ribbon, pearls, flowers. I used one ribbon to wrap around the card and another as a bow behind the flower on the upper right. I don’t use a lot of ribbon but love the look.

Sweet Squirrel

Good evening crafters and card makers. My friend Rocky here was visiting my friends in Tokidoki-land. Donetella was busy making her infamous sweets when he stopped by. He chose this delicious looking red-glazed donut for a snack. YUM!!! What a lucky guy. I wouldn’t mind that right about now. Maybe with a little port or moscato??? Hmm….. Better yet, a mimosa….. What would you pair with such a delightful dessert? (BTW, I’d probably actually have a nice cold glass of milk…shhhhh). Sleep well!!

Silent Serenade

Good evening all my crafty peeps! I have for you a sweet wolf serenading a few birds in the trees. To me this is a calm, sweet scene, seen perhaps on an unusually wintery fall night in the woods of Wisconsin. You know, when it snows too early and it is that beautiful white, light, fluffy stuff?! Wolfy is happy and is showing his appreciation with his song. Imagine, if you can, being up in the trees, looking down at this amazing picture. If only!?

Ok, perhaps as a child, I spent WAY too much time outside just eating up nature. Or not? This card was made with a ton of layering. Stamps came from all over: MayMay Made It, Lavinia, Gina K, Inkadinkado, and a few unknown stash items. The layers involved make it yet another mixed media card. Versaclair inks, Memento inks, along with Distressed Oxide and Distressed Ink to round out the inky part. Embellishments came through with white gauche, Gansai Tambi Champaign Gold, White and gold gel pen, and last, but not least, green pan pastel.

“When snow falls, nature listens!”

Style Endures

Good Morning Monday! I have been inspired by all the artists that create with such style, ease and layers. Lots and lots of layers. I especially enjoy Inkybliss on Youtube. This card is a spin-off from Nancy Stamps. She made a beautiful underwater card with just stamping. So, I decided to see what I could put together using what I had on hand. Thank you Tim Holtz for providing elements that just naturally go together. All of the stamps are his, except the sentiment which is from The Ton. The background was stamped in Vintage Photo and Memento Rich Cocoa. Rich Cocoa was also used for my pattern paper and my model. I colored her in a olive and blush pastel very lightly and smudged the pastel pencil with my finger to give the soft edges. Thinlits, Stacked Deckle, was used to cut the squares and the borders. Although it looks white (still working on my photography skills), the embossing is actually Vintage White by Ranger. Some Vintage Photo and Antique Linen Ink was added to the edges, just for some fun.

Seas the Day

Happy Mother’s Day to all the card makers and crafters!!! Here is a little mythical creature inspired card this morning. I wanted to do a Kelpie, as seen in Magical Beasts, the Crimes of Grindewauld.; however, after some research, I found that they are kind of dark creatures and I don’t do dark very well. So, I went with a Hippocamp (aka merpony). I learned that it is based off of Roman and Greek mythology. My hippocamp was colored using Black Widow pencils. The background is a layering of inks, perfect pearls and a hero arts stamped in Mermaid Lagoon Distressed ink. The sentiment was from a Lawn Fawn set and simply embossed in white.
