Haunted by the Night

Happy Monday, everyone! It’s already October. Ready for Halloween? 😁🐈‍⬛🎃 Although this is an unusual color challenge, I thought it was a good alternative for October. This was created with Tim Holtz’s Skull stamp. Simply stamp black on black then get out Posca pens and a few pencils to make a neon glow effect. Find coordinating papers to layer and use a Halloween Tiny Text sentiment, and….. you’re done!

This is my entry for the Colorful Options Challenge, serving up some serious design team vibes; October’s color of the month is NEON.

Visit the challenge to check out the amazing creations from the talented Design Teams. You can’t win without entering! Come join the fun!! For the Colorful Options Challenge, you have until Saturday, October 28th, 11:59pm US CST time, which translates to 5:59am on Sunday, October 29th in the UK or 6:59am and on Sunday, October 29th in CET.

Wishing all the entrants good luck! Have a blast, everyone!

Rest & Relax

Happy Labor Day, everyone! It’s now STAMPtember….. woo hoo!

I had to delve into my digital image archive for this particular snapshot. After a long and grueling day at the Conjuring farm, Bethesda was utterly exhausted. The myriad of spells and the multitude of hauntings had taken their toll. She yearned for a moment of respite, a brief escape from the supernatural demands of her life.

And so, here she sits, nestled in her cherished cauldron of shimmering ooze. Beneath the moonlit canopy of ancient trees, she relishes the soothing touch of a gentle breeze, as the radiant full moon graces the night sky. This tranquil moment provides her with the solace she desperately needs, rejuvenating her spirit in the midst of her enchanting world.

Have fun with whatever you are making and enjoy the rest of your weekend

Hugs, Makira

Calcifer

Happy Friday! So, check out my fire demon! He is a character in the movie Howl’s Moving Castle, voiced by none other than Danny Devito. 😁 I hand drew him and fussy cut him out. I didn’t go too crazy with the coloring—kept it nice and simple with my trusty Copics. For the background, I used Distress Oxide Sprays and watercolor paper. Pretty neat, right?

Not So Scary

Happy Friday, everyone! Is it Halloween yet? Almost 😁🐈‍⬛🎃 Most of the time when working with the color orange, I am drawn to the Halloween vibe. This square card is a Tim Holtz mixed-media style that was truthfully very fast and easy to make.

Poison Ivy

Happy Sunday afternoon, everyone! I’m absolutely thrilled to share with you a mixed media card that emerged from the parameters of last Friday’s Craft Roulette. It marries the talents of the exceptional designers: Gina K, CC Designs, Lawnfawn, and the ever-inspiring Tim Holtz. While I regret not capturing a step-by-step photo journey, I assure you this is easy to make.

The sentiment panel is a merger of Gina K’s wreath builder with the imprints of Lawnfawn’s stamps – specifically, the Fairy Friends, Critter’s Down Under, and Claire’s ABCs sets. I chose to use inks from Versamark, including Versamark Clair in Green Oasis and Tulip Red with the sentiment in Onyx Black.

To make the background, I searched and found a captivating green tie-dye motif that set the tone for my card. I added vines sourced from the TH/ Sizzix Garden Greens collection to infuse some of nature’s greenery.

A bit more cutesy than Uma Thurman, my Poison Ivy is supplied by CC Designs. She was stamped in Memento Black Ink and was brought to life with Copic markers. Her hair is adorned using E07, E29, R27, and R46; her complexion is a blend of E21 and E51; her attire is a harmony of YG06, YG13, and YG17. And to elevate her presence, a sprinkling of Garden Party by Sprinkletz gives her added enchantment.

May your Sunday be blessed with Inspiration!

I’m Here For the Candy

Hello, crafty peeps! I hope you’ve had a tomb-rific time unwinding lately. Those Tim Holtz addicts are in for a sarcophagus-full of joy! Allow me to unwrap the process for you: the eerie elegance of a 3D Skull embossing folder creates a mysterious background when combined with BlackSoot Distress Oxide Ink. My main mummy was summoned with Versamark Onyx Black Ink and painfully excavated with an Exacto blade. With a touch of foam tape, string and adhesive, it was bandage bound to the background. My “craft roulette” rounds, cleverly double as delectable offerings found inside the jack-o-lantern. As for the message, it was typed on my vintage 1929 Underwood and sliced with TH’s Deckle Trimmer. A touch of TH’s paper border and black card stock & you’ll be ready to call it a wrap.

Time to tuck into our Linnen Wrapped Dreams while I fade into the sands of farewell.
