Happy early Halloween! Recently, I have put card making on hold and have been working more on Halloween decorations. When I’m not making cards, I love to make decorations for my house. I saw this werewolf on the Cricut design space and just had to make it. It’s dimensions are just short of 11×17 inches. The cut layers in this were easy to put together. My challenge was to create the scene I wanted with only white and black cardstock. So I created the colored paper using Distressed Ink and a blending tool. Overall, I think this turned out.

Lots of latte to everyone this Thursday morning! I’ve created a CAS, single-layer card to start the day. The stamps are from Hero Arts and the embossing powders are from Emerald Creek. Emerald Creek’s products are fantastic! I used the Aroma-Chocolate Dream for the cup, giving the card a chocolate smell. Way too fun!

DD14 has been working on her cat’s Halloween costume this year. She crocheted him a Beetlejuice outfit. She did the jacket, tie and wig. Amazingly enough, there are no cat clothing patterns on Ravelry, so she improvised her own pattern. Well done girl!! She noticed that “anything” (including crafts) goes for the 2Crafty Critter Crazies monthly challenge and is entering her creation this month.

Welcome in foolish mortals to my haunted abode this Halloween. Today I greet happy haunts in my craft room. I love how this two toned card turned out. The background is a die from Hero Arts November 2019 kit. I drew the pumpkins in honor of Inktober. The spiders, skeleton hand, bat and webs are from Cricuit Access. All the coloring is Copic Markers: N0,N2,C7,C9,V25,V22,BV23,BV29. Have a crafty weekend!

Beware of Hitchiking Ghosts, y’all!

Who doesn’t enjoy seeing some cute animals playing in the Autumn foliage? The concept for this card stirred up past Autumn memories, a time spent in rural Wisconsin watching the animals play in the fall leaves from the kitchen window. Ahhhh. Nostalgia!! 😊This mixed media card was inspired by all the Autumn card challenges that have been posted lately. Crafty Cards by Heidi on Instagram had a great influence on the layout. I love following her!! Check her out!. All the stamps and dies are from Lawn Fawn: Snow Day, Winter Fox, Joy to the Woods, Oh Gnome!, Magic Iris Camera Add-on, and Magic Iriis Camera Pull-tab Add-on. The trees were stamped in Distressed Oxide. Iced Spruce and Speckled Egg. The other images were stamped with Memento Black ink and some simple Copic Coloring.

A small collaboration project that DD14 and I created. She loved this stamp from DDD(retired) and wanted to make a background to match. She had no idea what to do with the two, that’s where I helped. I added a sentiment and a coordinating layer to finish the card. Her coloring was done with Copic Markers and Prismacolor pencils. The background is Black Soot and Seedless Preserves. Fall is officially here! In Texas, that means the weather is cool enough for long bike rides and picnics with friends (pre COVID19 that is). This scene card was created by DD14, inspired by The Card Concept #140 and it’s multitude of colors. She used Lawn Fawn’s Bicycle Built For You, Screen Time, Hey Lady, A Bug Deal and Holiday Helpers. She used Distressed Oxide and Copic Markers for the background. The images were stamped in Ink On 3 Disappearing Ink and colored with Copic Markers. I think she did a fantastic job, however, I’m biased. 😁

This mixed-media card was inspired by the current Colorthowdown challenge with a little help from Jennifer McGuire. I adventured into a new technique with this challenge. I used an embossing folder, cream cardstock and brown Memento ink for the background. I then stamped a few birds in red and orange Hero Arts inks along with an orange sentiment from Newton’s Nook. I popped the background on some foam as I find embossed backgrounds easier to glue this way. Super fast and simple to make.

“We’re painting the roses red.” Or the hearts in this case. I love, love, love this version of the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland. The Oddball series from Stampingbella is adorable in such a quirky way. The Queen was stamped with Memento Black ink on some Expressit card stock. The hearts are a simple stamp that was stamped with a red Hero Arts ink. The alcohol markers used were from a $8 set I bought on Amazon. Honestly, they worked as well in my hands as the Copic markers. But for $8? I can easily recommend these to friends that have smaller children and not break the budget or worry that they are not taken care of properly. Have a happy hump day everyone!

Happy Sunday Crafters! I have a new mixed media card for you today. The background was made by first embossing a distressed brick background stamp in white embossing powder. Then ink “smooshing” was done using Distressed Oxides: carved pumpkin, tattered rose, squeezed lemonade, picked raspberry. The stamp of the bunnies and sentiment came from a retired Carftin’ Desert Divas. The stamp was stamped on Bristol smooth cardstock using ink on 3 disappearing ink. A base layer of distressed oxides were painted on the image. Then a top color of colored pencils (prismacolor and black widow) were used to add finishing touches. Hope you enjoy!
