I don’t know how many other crafters follow card makers on youTube, but I watch them OFTEN. I was watching Nichol Spohr, LLC Thursday night and loved her new cards using the Spellbinders Hot Foiling and Polychromos. The cards she made are stunning! However, I don’t own any of the supplies she used. So, I did the next best thing, I used what I had. Thank you MayMay Helms for always reminding me of this!

So here’s what was used: BB Magical Unicorns (MFT), Lawn Fawn stitch die frames, Mementa heart border die, Gemini Foilpress Turquoise, Emerald Creek candy turquoise embossing powder, Ranger Transparent texture paste, Kindred Stamp’s moon and star stencil, white charcoal pencil, Prismacolor colored pencils and Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

The clouds and heart border were cut out with dies and then hot foil added with the Gemini Hot Foil Press. The white and small turquoise rectangles were die cut and the stencil and texture paste were used to add the stars to the card stock. The unicorn was embossed and then colored with pencils. It’s hard to see the sparkle from the wink of stella glitter, but in person it’s twinkles. The Happy Birthday sentiment came with the Hot Foil Press. A little art glitter glue and foam tape puts it all together.

This card was made by my DD14. She was inspired by two challenges: Lawnfawnatics Bring it Back and CAS(E) this Sketch #361. She used some washi tape from our stash for the stripes on the bottom. Lawn Fawn’s party animal supplied the image and the sentiment. A little memento black ink and copic coloring, and you have a card. Hope you enjoy!

What would be a better way to stave off the Monday blues than curling up in a comfy chair and reading a good book? When I saw the newest Fusion Card Challenge, it just screamed the MFT stamp set BB Our Story. I tried to marry the photo and the sketch as best as possible. For the background a stitched frame from Lawn Fawn was used on three colors of card stock that were then cut down and pieced together. The grey card stock was scored every half an inch to simulate the wall in the photo. The white panel is simulating all the white desk area; however, it looked a little barren, so I added the side table. The stamps were stamped with Memento ink and colored with copics, resembling the colors found in the photo.

These winter wishes were inspired by The Card Concept challenge #129. The snowmen, the snowflakes and the greenery is what inspired this card. This single layer card is in the style of Taffelberry Lane, aka Antonia Florence, from youtube. A Joy Clair stamp and some Memento ink provided the snowmen. I used a new set of Lineon 30 alcohol markers for the coloring. After coloring, some Versamark ink and white embossing powder was used for the sentiment. Falling snow was added using a white Gelly Roll pen. This is the first time using these markers; I’ve been looking for some less expensive alcohol markers for some younger children. These markers were only $14.99 from Amazon and blended well. If you are in the market, give them a try!

TGIF crafty ones! A simple smile to start the weekend. This card was inspired by the current Time Out Challenge. I met an adorable 4yo girl at work this week. She brightened my day and I wanted to send her something to repay the kindness. I had just receive the smile stamp set from MFT and knew it would look fabulous on this confetti paper. Super easy and fun to make. I used Versafine tuxedo black ink and Emerald Creek’s Black Cherry embossing powder for the sentiment. Two additional sentiments were used. One inside the card saying, “Because of you, I smile a lot more.” The second was used on the envelope, “Sending a smile your way.”

A true MFT challenge! The current color challenge by MFT inspired this card. I used the MFT gift card window and frame die-namics along with the essential sentiment rip strips die-amics (on the back) to place the gift card. The colored images come from BB Penguin in Paradise and the sentiment from BB Polynesia Paradise. I just love how these cards turn out. I use them for thank you cards and usually have a few in the stash ready to use. These colors were just so cheerful and fun to work with.

Happy Monday crafters!! I saw the challenges last week at CAS(E) this Sketch! and As You Like it Card Challenge and just had to combine the two. My favorite animals are horses and cats; it is truly a tie for me in regards to which I love most. I decided to make it a horse card this time as a friend of mine recently bought a new horse and I thought it would be nice to send her a congratulations card. Here is what was used. The stripe is taped off with masking tape and some simple ink blending with distressed oxide in tea dye, tumbled glass and ground expresso. The horse and jump are from Clearly Besotted’s Ewe are Awesome and Magical Plushies. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn’s Bicycle Built for Two.

Hard to believe it’s been 2 weeks! EECK! I have been making cards in my absence; however, none turned out like I wanted!! Anyone ever have this problem?? Any how, I started this card almost two weeks ago. The concept of this card was inspired by a card I saw on Stamping Bella’s Sistahood’s facebook page. When I saw the card by jennydixbella, I thought that her card layout and the current Fusion Card Challenge were a perfect pair. Just a little bit of color and theme changing was all that was needed. To make the card, all of the layers were cut out with Lawn Fawn’s die cuts, except for the “window” which is a MFT peekaboo die. The sentiment was stamped in Versafine Onxy black ink and embossed with Emerald Creek’s Black Cherry embossing powder. The patterned cat paper is some origami paper based on the movie Kiki’s Delivery Service. The card is then easily assembled with some Art Glitter glue. Although simple to make, it took me some time to get the layout the way I liked it.

A new day and a new challenge. The nice people over at Less Is More challenge are challenging crafters to a less is more (tiny and few) challenge. It made me think of coffee. Why? Hard to say. This first card (TGIM) has 2 little coffee cups (from my stash) and the coffee chemical compound by Rabbit Hole Designs. Rabbit Hole Designs also did the sentiment for this card. Since the sentiment mentioned glitter, I had to add some. The coffee compound is glittered in Emerald Creek’s Allure Iceberg. The colors for this card came from MFT’s color challange. The TGIF card is a simple stamp using Ink on 3 fading ink and Clearly Besotted’s Drink and Be Merry Set. I used the martini glass and thought of a lemon drop martini. The sentiment is from a retired Crafting Desert Divas set. Happy Crafting!!
