It’s a marvelous magical Monday, crafters! Good morning and happy beginning to a new week. I thought it would be nice to start the week off with some magic. This gift card was motivated by the Craftin’ Desert Divas’ Coffee Wizard’s set. I used Lawn Fawn’s stitched rectangular die to cut out my base. My next die was MFT’s Gift Card Window & Frame Die-namics to cut the window for the Starbucks card and the back is cut with MFT’s Essential Sentiment Rip Strips Die-namics. The cute little images were stamped with Memento black ink and colored with Copic markers.

Happy Sunday, crafters! I was challenged with doing “something different.” After some thought, I decided to make a card with NO coloring. Lawn Fawn’s Leafy Die Set provided the frame, branch and leaves and their “One in a Chameleon” stamp set provided the chameleon abnd sentiment. I had not used these two products yet and thought they worked well together. I had a pet chameleon for years and so do miss them. They are such cute and sweet little creatures. The chameleon is stamped with Versamark ink and Ranger Tan embossing powder. I added a bird, some clouds and flowers to make it a bit more interesting.

Crafters, I’m calling all cat lovers out there today! This card took it’s initial inspiration from the book cover, There’s a Tiger in My Garden. The background was so much fun to make; it involved two large stamps and some simple ink blending. My queen was colored with Copic markers and then masked for more simple ink-blending. The sentiment is Versamark Onyx Blak ink. I added a little orange sparkle thread to the background for a little more interest.

Throwback Thursday to when there were occasions to wear elegant gowns. DD15 created this card for a girl friend’s birthday. It is our favorite reason to send out cards. She used the Ton’s Couture Designs stamp and sentiment along with Versamark ink and Ranger White embossing powder. The dress was colored with white pastel and neon Gellyroll pens. The hair was colored with Gansai Tambi White Gold. She created her own patterned paper for the background using some coordinating acrylic paint.

Welcome Wednesday, crafters! I have a cute clean and simple birthday card today. The good people over at AAA Birthday Challenge are asking for a patterned paper that is clean and simple. Whimsy Stamps has the most beautiful pattern papers! This is clearly from their Vampire set. I paired it with this little racoon vampire from Craftin’ Desert Divas’ Ghostly Good Time. I stamped the racoon with Veramark Onyx Black ink and then cut it with the Scan N’ Cut to cut it with no white border; then he and his little stuffed friend were colored with Copic markers and a little bit of gel pen for accents. The sentiment was created using my Cricut and a gel pen. I mounted the racoon and sentiment on some foam tape. Now, who to give this to? It would be very appropriate for Rocket (Guardians of the Galaxy). 😄

Happy Sunday, crafters! This single-layer, mixed media scene was inspired by The Card Concept challenge. Although the room in the challenge is a baby room, my thoughts went to the sleep-deprived mom of a new born. So, I couldn’t help but pull out this cat from The Rabbit Hole Designs. He is colored brown similar to the ottoman and is wearing a peach/orange robe similar to the chair and curtains. The little ninjas (a washi tape)i are black and white like the throw blanket on the chair The teal/ruquoise wall looked a little plain, so I added the chemical symbol for caffeine as texture to the room’s “wallpaper” with some Gina K Seaglass ink. The wood floor was colored with E30 & E31 Copic markers. The sentiments are stamped in Versamark Tuxedo black ink and they came from The Ton and Stampin’ Up. I hope you enjoy! Cheers!!

Aloha, crafters! I’m off to the islands today with a layered card. Have you ever started out with one design in mind and ended up with something completely different? I don’t know about other crafters, but this happens to me often and it sure did with this design. The rose gold foil from Foil Quill adds a little shimmy (oh, I mean shimmer) and shine. The remainder of the card are simple images and a sentiment (Hero Arts February + Distressed Oxide’s Tattered Rose).

Welcome Wednesday, crafters and colorists! My inspiration for this card came from the CAS on Friday challenge. The inspiration board had all these magnificent flowers which I thought would be adorable to have a little flower fairy flying amongst them. Stampendous and SSS were my stamp source The inks and embossing powders were from Tsukineko, Ranger, and Emerald Creek. Then, the fun coloring began…… white charcoal, Prismacolor, and Black Widow. A little sparkle was added from Clear Wink of Stella and some white gel pen. If you look carefully, the monarch does have the white spots on his wings. Many of the coloring techniques come from the fabulous artist, Lisa Mitrochin. Check her out!

Wednesday, is almost, kinda, sorta, just about, nearly the weekend!

“Snow, oh, to see a mountain covered with a quilt of snow.”

That is not something I will likely see living in Texas. Instead, I brought the mountain to my craft room. This multimedia card was completed using four layers of cardstock. The watercolor paper provides the base for the background. Antique Linen and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide’s light wash provides color before embossing using Sixxix’s snowflake embossing folder. Next, to get that feeling of snow falling, snowflake paste by Finnabair art Extravagance was added through an MFT snow stencil. My mountain needs a critter! This little winter white bunny was very talented; he can make heart-shaped “snowballs.” The snow globe was embellished with a holographic embossed snowflake and a pair of mittens. A final touch of shine is provided by a few pearls.

Another Crafty Card for today, crafters! The good people over at CAS Colours & Sketches have a new color challenge this week: Flirty Flamingo, Gray Granite, Misty Moonlight. One of my favorite techniques is to inlay an intricate die into a card. So, the centerpiece for this card is SSS’ Dahlia Stem. I used white card stock and Distressed Oxide’s Kitsch Flamingo and Blueprint Sketch for the die cut. It was then inset into some grey cardstock. I then emobossed the sentiment with WOW Midnight Dream embossing powder. A CAS card, that was a blast to make.
