Time To Relax

Welcome to the weekend, crafters! I was over at the Time Out Challenge and they currently have a photo inspiration, which coincidentally corresponds with the Double D challenge. I love the striped wall in the background and used it for my background inspiration. Some simple masking and use of Distressed Oxides (Peacock Feathers, Spun Sugar, Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Picked Raspberry, and Spiced Marmalade) created my stripes. Cricut supplied the die cut and Hero Arts gave me the sentiment and the MaiTai. A MaiTai sounds good right now. In case you need it, here’s the recipe: 1 1/2 oz White rum, 1/2 oz Fresh lime juice, 1/2 oz Orange curaçao, 1/2 oz Orgeat syrup, 3/4 oz Dark rum.

Have a beautiful weekend! Do what makes you smile and happy!!

Purple Rose

Happy Mid-week artists and crafters! I am sharing today a purple rose. The die cut is from Momenta and cut twice in white card stock. Translucent grit medium was added to the leaves randomly and opaque texture medium with wilted violet and purple Art Glitter-glitter were placed on the rose petals. The leaves and buds were then colored and smudged with distressed crayons. The background is the Garden of Roses stencil from Dylusions (Ranger) with a little help from Distressed Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet, Spun Sugar and Dried Marigold. The green leaves are from a Kindred Stamp Set and Memento Luxe Pear Tart. It’s a little late, but this would make a fabulous Mother’s Day Card; guess I’ll just hoard it until next year. 🌹😊

Mixed Media Goddess

Good morning crafting world! I have a mixed media piece for you this am. This is a combination of distressed paint, distressed ink, ink, pan pastels, gel pens, and a little glitter for fun. The SSS Monday challenge is “I can see clearly”. Although many have taken this as adding a clear item, I couldn’t help but be inspired by the words and the song is clearly implies. My image was inspired by the line “It’s gonna be a bright, bright, sunshiny day.” This beautiful woman is standing in the middle of a forest with the glow of sunshine. Too bad my children are no longer having to submit creative writing based on a picture; this would be perfect! Enjoy!!!! Here’s my recipe.

  • Stamps: Lavinia Zemira, flower (don’t know name); Tim Holtz Flights of Fancy
  • Distressed Paint: Dried Marigold, Blueprint sketch
  • Acrylic Paint: Aqua (could not find my light/baby blue)
  • Ink: Onyx Black, VersaFine Clair: Morning Mist, Twlight,
  • Distressed Inks/Oxides: Dried Marigold-oxide, Spiced Marmalade-Ink
  • Pan pastels: Darkest Blue, Darkest Purple, White,Orange
  • Gel Pens: Gelly Roll Gold, Gelly Roll Souflee-orange
  • Glitter: Art Glitter Mimosa

Mission Impossible II

It’s an inky Thursday in the craft room today. I’ve been working on this for a while and finally finished this card and just had to post it. Those that follow might recognize it as it is based off the card by Emma Willimas on a SSS Monday Challenge. I changed the scene to make it more summer inspired. I will update a bit later on all the inks that went into its making.

A Summer Boquet

“A Salaam and good evening worthy” crafters. Just a little Disney vibe this evening. LOL. I present to you a CAS card to start the week. I do enjoy CAS cards, but find leaving the white space alone difficult 😁. Tim Holtz’s products are responsible for this card. The die cuts all come from Sizzix Thinlits 664164 (I don’t see a name??) Distressed Oxide, Distressed Ink and Distressed Spray provide my color. Colors used, you ask?… Peacock Feathers, Evergreen Bough, Twisted Citron and Shabby Shutters. The pink is a from a piece of cardstock from my stash. The apple green was covered in a translucent texture paste to give a little dimension. Hmmm….. now, who to send this to??? Anyone know any gardners? Have a fabulous week, crafters!!

Mahalo, DT at PP

I had a moment this morning before heading off to work to go look to see if the new Paper Players Challenge was posted yet. To my surprise, I am the last challenge’s headliner. Thank you so much DT for your support! See you at the next challenge!

Aloha Beaches

Cheers and Aloha! I just love this little penguin from MFT. I am playing along with two challenges: The Paper Players and MFTSketch. A little inking with Distressed Oxide Tumbled glass, Blueprint Sketch and Spiced Marmalade produced my ocean background. BB Penguins in Paradise added the stamped images and BB Polynesian Paradise contributed the sentiment. The penguin’s lei is made from clay embellishments. Copic colors used: C1,C7,C9,100, E55, E57, E59, YG63, YG61, YG10, YR08,YR04, Y13. Some white accents with a white gel pen finished my card.

Oops, I Missed Your B-day?

I’m sharing a little whimsy this morning, Whimsy Stamp’s Super Dogs. He is stamped in VersaFine Clair Medieval Blue and then embossed in clear embossing powder. A little copic coloring brings him to life. The sentiment was made using Cricut. The puppy’s background was made using Ranger White embossing powder and Lawn Fawn’s Meow You Doin’ with an added touch of Distressed Oxide Chipped Sapphire on the edges.

Here’s my recipe for the Color Throwdown Challenge

  • Aqua: Cardstock, Copic colors BG10,BG23
  • Navy: Versafine Clair Medieval Blue, Distressed Oxide Chipped Sapphire, Cardstock, Copic B39
  • Light Grey: Copic C0,C1,C3
