“Squirrel”

Just a little squirrel enjoying his breakfast this morning. This stamp is from Rabbit Hole designs and is the focal point for my card entry as guest designer for The Color Throwdown challenge this week. #ctd641. My little friend was stamped with Memento brown ink on some ivory cardstock. He was colored with Copic: E34,E35,E37,E57(donut). Distressed Oxide crayon was used for the frosting and some Nuvo drops supplied the sprinkles. The background paper is ivory cardstock placed into an embossing folder. To add some color, Tumbled glass Distressed Oxide ink and crayon were added. Some basic laying with red cardstock framed my image. For a finishing touch, some Sprikletz-donuts were added to the top and bottom.

Lochness

Hello, crafters and card makers! I saw the challenge over at Less is More for a sea creatures theme. I have this Lochness Monster stamp I’ve wanted to use for quite a while and figured he counted as a sea creature. 😊 All of the images and dies are from Hero Arts. The inks used were a combination of Hero Arts, Distress Oxide and VersaFine Clair. The water and the mountains are layered stamps, two colors each. The sky is a combination of Scattered Straw, Wild Honey,Victorian Velvet and Pumice Stone. My sentiment comes from a retired Craftin’ Desert Divas set. The little bit of embellishment is from white gel pen to enhance the water on the waterfalls.

Booya

Booya, crafters! OMG, I had too much fun with this card. Talk about mixed media…. WOW. Not my forte, but had to try it out. The stencil of the haunted house was created by my Circut and cut on black card stock. It was then embossed with: Distressed Oxide glaze in Walnut Stain, Distressed Oxide glaze in Black Soot, Desert Clay Boho Blends by Emerald Creek, Black Cheery Aroma by Emerald Creek and Copper Blush by Nuvo. My backgound was a blend of Distressed oxides on black watercolor paper in: Forest Moss, Ground Expresson, Rustic Wilderness, Aged Mahogany, Blueprint Sketch, Black Soot and Forest Moss. The border around the watercolor paper is papyrus paper with blended with Aged Mahogany, Black Soot and Rustic Wilderness. Between the stencil and the watercolor paper is black chees cloth bathed in Modge Pode Stiffy.

Imagine Elegance

Happy Friday Evening, crafters!!! This is a mixed media combined-effort card this evening. I saw the Splasymix challenge this month and couldn’t stop thinking of this gorgeous girl my DD15 made a while back. I stole her image and had to add a background equal to her elegance. I started with some simple ink blending (Tubled Glass and Cracked Pistachio) around a Newton’s Nook Stencil. The stencil was then blended with a bit of Spun Sugar. I added a bit of blending to the heart with Spun Sugar and White Picket Fence Distressed Oxide cayons to for a soft blend. The background had a bit of Ink-a-dik-a-doo stamping and Tim Holtz images to add some interest to the background. Off-white pastels added to the misty fogg in the background. Inspire was heat embossed with Versamark ink and Ranger’s white embossing powder. The heart had some texture added by Nuvo Jewl Drops in Rosewater with a bit of Diamond Dust added for some sparkle. If I could, I would give this card back to DD15 as she can be such an inspiration to her mom. This card reminds me of Spring, the colors, or a Spring wedding. Spring is where the weather is just about perfect, not too hot or cold.

Dually Honored

Good morning, crafters! It’s May. Can you believe it? That means some new challenges!😁 I went looking for new monthly challenges and found that two of my cards made the top 3 over at Two Old Bats Halloween challenge. Thank you ladies!

May your week be filled with good thoughts and kind people.

Dreaming Kitty

TGIF, crafters! And there is a new color challenge over at the Color Throwdown challenge. This is one of those cards that just came together easily. A little ink blending of Distressed Oxides Spun Sugar, Abandoned Coral and Bundled Sage. My kitty and the sentiment were supplied by my Cricut machine.

Cast Your Spell

Hello Halloween enthusiasts! I couldn’t help but create another Halloween Entry for the Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge. I loved all the greens and blacks in the board and just had to make a wtich. The witch is from Rabbit Hole designs and she is mounted on a paper from Whimsy Stamps. Some copic colors and gel pens finish the card. Fairly quick and easy to make.

Halloween is my favorite time of year… of curse!

I ❀ Unicorns

Good evening, crafters! I have a mixed media card for you today. I was watching Tim Holtz demo the new Salvaged Patina. I just had to try his paint technique. I used Speckled Egg and Kitsch Flamingo in Oxide paint for my base with a little splattering of yellow and white acrylic paint. Rosie and Bernie were stamped on watercolor paper and then painted with Distressed oxides(Speckled Egg, Kitsch Flamingo, Scattered Straw, Pumice Stone), flesh watercolor and Mint Perfect Pearls. After taking this picture, I noticed my sentiment ink smeared…… Ahhhhhh. Guess I will recut the banner and restamp πŸ€ͺ
