Happy September! September reminds me of Renaissance Festivals and all the beautiful costumes people wear.
Off to the craftroom where I pulled out one of my favorite Twisttoon stamps and my Copics. After coloring, she was hand cut and mounted on this fun fall background paper. The bottom strip is for a sentiment, which I will add once I decide on her use. Open, it holds a gift card. Folding fun!

Welcome back, friends! We are all a little mad here today. I have been playing with alternative skin colors this week. I couldn’t resist altering MFT’s Cute Chemist set to a more zombie-like appearance. I don’t think I achieved zombie, but perhaps a mad scientist. He reminds me of a young Dr. Jekyll concocting new things in his lab.

Happy Sunday, friends! Is it tea time yet? Well, it probably is somewhere. Rosie and Bernie are here enjoying a little Orange Pekoe. Here are the supplies in case you want to chai this at home.

Well, he is humanoid in appearance. But he is not 1.9m tall. I think he outweighs the 95.3kg. He is too cute. And, we shook hands, and I didn’t die, to my knowledge. But he does live at 049 Research Sector Drive. 🤪 His makings are below, but careful, you may need special containment for him.

Pan pastels: Black Course 014 Pearl, Violet 470.5, Violet Tint 470.8
Inks: Archival Black Soot

Directions:
Cut the bristol card stock down to 5.5×5.5. Ink the cardstock with the purple distress inks starting from the lightest in the center to the darkest on the edges. Type randomly as desired (I used SCP-049 info for the background text). Apply the Crypt paste through the stencil on the bottom inch of the panel. The paste will absorb some color, giving the brick a whimsical appearance. Stamp the background with archival inks. Use pan pastel on the background for dimension. Ink the edges with Black Soot. Cut the plague doctor with your Cricut. Cut the skulls with the die and white cardstock. Color the doctor’s bag with black soot and black pearl pastel. Assemble the plague doctor; use pan pastels to add dimension to him. Layer and stack the skulls as desired. Use foam tape to adhere the composed plage doctor. Create the house address out of leftover cardstock.

Directions:
Cut the watercolor card stock down to 4.5×6. Apply texture paste through the stencil. Allow drying time. Using your splat box, spray with yellow and red ink. Spray with water as needed to get the result you desire. Add droplets of Black Soot. Dry. Stamp the spider webs. Stich the cardstock. Cut the ghosts and spiders. Add black Nuvo drops to the body of the spiders. Once dry, paint the hourglass on them. Type your sentiment on vellum. Layer it up with mattes as you desire and glue it down. Enjoy!!!
Happy August, crafters! I was in the store and was inspired by the homecoming mum’s supplies that dominated the aisles. Who doesn’t love the look of formal gowns? Such elegance!
Back at home, I pulled out one of my favorite stamps, this gorgeous gown by The Ton. She is stamped in a kaleidoscope of Distress Oxide colors, and the background is blended with the same. A little zig-zag stitching was added to the background for interest. What I adore about this stamp is its ability to give you a sumptuous result with little time. This is a great card layout when you are short on time and need to make a card in an hour. Supplies:
Papers: Arteza Watercolor Paper,Black Black 110lb cardstock, 110lb Nina Solar White cardstock
Stencils: Tim Holtz Sparkle, Lavina Stamps Elegance
Inks: Versafine Onyx Black Ink,
Black Acrylic paint
Distress Oxide Matte Texture Paste
Directions:
Cut the watercolor card stock down to 5×7. Apply texture paste through the stencil. Allow drying time. Apply the pink, blue and yellow ink with a blending sponge or brush, making sure to overlap the colors. Spritz with a little water to allow the colors to blend. Dry. Use a stamping platform to ink up Mideela and Zemira. I didn’t like the result I achieved, so I painted them with blacky acrylic paint after inking. Layer it up with mattes as you desire and glue it down. Enjoy!!!

Hello friends! It’s a new month, which means a new challenge over at the Colorful Options Challenge! The color this month is TURQUOISE! How much fun is that??? Turquoise always makes me think of oceans; however, my contribution to the challenge is a home decor item with butterflies. My rainbow-inspired contribution can be found in my post Hello, Again, Hello.

Box: Tim Holtz Ideology craft box
Acrylic paint: Distress paint in Tumbled Glass and Salvaged Patina
Clear Modge Podge
Collage paper: Tim Holtz entymology
Distress Oxide Ink: Salvaged Patina
Distress Glaze: Salvaged Patina
Distress Oxide Collage Medium
Ideology: metal word; chip board sentiments
Directions:
Cut the collage paper to fit the box. Turn the paper over and paint the backside of the paper with acrylic paint as you desire. Using either collage Medium or Mod Podge, glue the collage paper to the box, placing a layer of medium over the paper as well. Paint the metal sentiment with Distress collage medium and sprinkle with glaze. Allow drying. Emboss with the embossing gum. Ink the chip board sentiments with Distress Oxide. Glue the sentiments to the box. You’re done!!
Happy August, fiber artists! It’s the beginning of a new month and a new design for my color-of-the-month contribution over at the Colorful Options Challenge. This month I designed a collar for my cat. She has a tendency to hide, and we cannot find her. It makes giving her her daily medicine quite difficult. The solution? Attach an Apple GPS to her collar. There was nothing like this that I could find, so I crocheted a collar with a “pouch” for the GPS. Don’t worry, the placket is a breakaway attachment. Enjoy!
