Trick or Treat 2023

Good morning, everyone! My second Halloween card for the year! WOO HOO! What is your favorite Halloween candy🍭? I would say chocolate, any flavor, any variety. 😁

Supplies used:

  • Strathmore Bristol Smooth Cardstock, Black-Black Cardstock by Fabriano
  • Embossing Folder: 3D Sizzix/Tim Holtz,Halloween-Skulls
  • Distress Oxide inks: Candy Apple Red, Lumberjack Red, Squeezed Lemonade, Scattered Straw, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Aged Mahogany, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Vintage Photo, Faded Jeans
  • Distress Mica Spray in Harvest Moon
  • Dies: Sizzix/Tim Holtz Trick or Treat Colorize; Sizzix/Tim Holtz-Halloween Bold Text
  • Glossy Accents
  • Clear Rock Candy Glitter

Directions:

Emboss the Bristol cardstock and ink with the oranges and Squeezed Lemonade until happy; a blending brush works best with embossed paper. Splatter the background with the mica spray. Using the bristol cardstock, cut all the die layers out of white and use the oxides to color. Stack and glue your candy. Add glossy accents to the apple and candy corn on the top layer. Completely cover the eyeball forming a domed appearance, and allow it to dry. It took over 8 hours to dry as the glossy accents is VERY thick. Cut two of your sentiment out of black cardstock and glue them together. I felt that the border of the embossed paper needed to be darker, so I added Aged Mahogany to the edge. Cut a thin black border and place it on an orange card base.

Have a crafty week!

Happy first day of the week, everyone! I am trying to keep is simple today. Yep, trying. One of my favorite combinations: Stamping Bella and Tim Holtz. This card is fairly simple to make. I used the red card stock, Lumberjack Red Distress INK and a stencil for the background; it was then splattered with some red perfect pearls. My image was stamped on light grey cardstock (made from bristol smooth and Lost Shadow) and colored with the Distress Inks. She was cut out and layered with coordinating TH paper and blue cardstock. My sentiment is simply embossed.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock: red & blue from the stash; Bristol smooth; Tim Holtz Ideology Backdrops; vellum
  • Stamp: Curvy Girl Loves Coffe from Stamping Bella
  • Inks: Versamark Embossing Ink, Versamark Onyx Black Ink, Distress Ink (Lumberjack Red, Stormy Sky, Vintage Photo, Lost Shadow),

Park Hopping to Studio Ghibli

Happy February, everyone! I am happy to announce the beginning of a new challenge, Park Hopping My Happy Place. It is a theme park-inspired challenge. My card’s theme is Kiki’s Delivery Service. The Studio Ghibli theme park just opened in Japan in November 2022. As such, I can use the Sassy Kiki’s stamp set by The Sassy Club’s Stamps. Start with an inky background, stamp & Copic color, and then some simple layering.

Stay Magical!
